The movie was nominated for eight awards, including best picture, and Martin McDonagh was nominated for both writing and directing. The next most nominations went to Everything Everywhere All at Once with six, followed by Babylon and The Fabelmans with five each. Below we have mentioned the 2023 Golden Globes Nominees.

On TV, Abbott Elementary has the most nominations, with five. Quinta Brunson is nominated for best actress in a Musical or Comedy TV series and best actress in a musical or comedy TV series. With 14 nominations each, HBO Max and Netflix tied for the most nominations in television, followed by Hulu with nine.

Mayan Lopez and Selenis Leyva from NBC’s Lopez vs. Lopez announced the nominees for film and TV categories live from the Beverly Hilton. Some categories were also shown on NBC’s Today Show. Lopez’s father, George Lopez, was supposed to present with his daughter, but he got COVID-19 and had to back out, so Leyva, who also stars in Lopez vs. Lopez, took his place.

The Golden Globes will be back on NBC in January for the 80th time. The network, which has shown the Globes since 1996, didn’t show the 79th edition of the awards show earlier this year. This was because of a boycott in the entertainment industry that started after the Los Angeles Times reported in 2021 that the Golden Globes organization, The Hollywood Foreign Press Association, had no Black members and had been involved in unethical behavior and questionable financial practices.

In the wake of the L.A. Times articles, the HFPA has implemented numerous reforms, including banning members from accepting gifts and introducing a hotline for reporting misconduct. It also added 103 voters from outside the U.S. and 21 journalists from the U.S. who work for outlets outside the U.S. Eldridge Industries bought the HFPA and turned it into a for-profit business. Now, 52% of the people who can vote are women, and 51.5 % are from different races and cultures.

The group’s president, Helen Hoehne, told The Hollywood Reporter, “This is not the old HFPA anymore.” “Over the past 18 months, which is almost two years, we have taken a hard look at ourselves and listened to the criticism…. And we built a new infrastructure that made our organization and the awards show more diverse, open, and flexible.

The HFPA has also made more categories by splitting its awards for supporting actors and actresses into separate awards for ongoing TV series, limited/anthology series, or TV movies. Previously the supporting acting TV categories included contenders from ongoing TV series, limited series, and TV movies.

The awards are for movies and TV shows that came out during the calendar year of 2022. The 2023 Golden Globes show, hosted by Jerrod Carmichael, is set to air live from the Beverly Hilton on Tuesday, Jan. 10, at 8 p.m. ET/5 p.m. PT on NBC and Peacock.

Even though the Globes are coming back to NBC, this is the last year of their contract with the network. It’s still not clear where the awards show will air in the future. The Golden Globes usually happen on a Sunday, but they had to move to a Tuesday because of New Year’s Day, the end of the NFL season, and the Critics’ Choice Awards.

The show was made by Dick Clark Productions, Jesse Collins Entertainment, and the Hollywood Foreign Press Association (HFPA). Eldridge Industries owns the HFPA, which puts on the Golden Globes. PME Holdings, LLC, a partnership between Penske Media Corporation and Eldridge, owns The Hollywood Reporter.
